So after this week's poo redundancy news I felt a bit low but just when you think EVERYTHING is totally cruddy, SOMETHING WONDERFUL happens to give you faith once again!! More details as and when I can as always... :-)
Hope you're all shiny and happy like the sun is here! Hmm, I really should be down in the dumps but I'm actually grinning like a fool instead! Yesterday I got told I will be made redundant (which is very poo indeed) but I feel like it will actually open up lots of opportunities, well, that's what I keep telling myself anyway!
A little something different:
I really enjoyed drawing this little guy, it was great stepping away from the usual hand drawn doodles for a while too! What do you think?? Hope you like!
Hope you're all well and enjoying this GLORIOUS SUNSHINE :-) Oh deary me, I am completely drained after a week's hard slogging but as a result I feel more confident and prepared than ever! Woop! APOLOGIES again, no new drawings BUT here are some snaps from my trusty sketch/note book. I posted some last year and they went down a treat so thought I'd do it again:
It finally feels like we're coming out of the Winter and that Spring has sprung! It's reflective of my temperament actually as today I am SUPER CONFIDENT and even more HAPPY than usual! I've done no less than 7 important things relating to my Nanny stuffs and it just feels so GOOD to be doing something which moves my work in a positive diection.
I don't have anything BRAND SPANKINGLY NEW to show you but I DO have these bits and bobs:
I have a great Mum. I know EVERYONE thinks their Mum is literally the best but MY MUM IS THE BEST MUM IN THE WHOLE WORLD. So there. Today's post is for My lovely Mum, I didn't have very long to do this in (it's a re-work of another card!) but I know she'll be appreciative regardless!
As you may or may not know, I'm having a complete life overhaul at the moment which means I've been neglecting my blogging! GAH! But fret not; the overhaul should work out well for Nanny fans! * More exciting news to follow soon *
I hope you're well :-) So things keep going from bad to worse so I'm taking action to try and sort my artistic life out! As a result, I haven't had very much time to do anything brand spankingly amazing but did enjoy a 5 second drawing exercise as suggested by Scissors and Glue! Each element took 5 seconds to draw then I tarted it all up in PhotoShop later. ENJOY!
First I would like to say a big thanks for Mid century Lass' last comment: WEE-WAA-WOO-WOO! What a way to make a girl feel confident!! It must've done something as I've done not ONE but TWO NEW PICS TODAY! Enjoyyyyyyyy!!!
So it's finally sinking in that I need to make some changes asap regardless of what happens in my day job! As I mentioned last week, I had some GREAT news which is only spurring me on more. I wonder if I could eventually make it purely as a freelance illustrator? Hmmmm.
Anyway, here is today's post! I need to work on the colours a bit more but it was driving me mad so I thought it was best to post now rather than throwing my computer across the room!
Hope you're smiling wherever you are. I got some stinky news about my day job situation yesterday and after initially feeling rather sick about it, I began to feel very positive indeed as though someone somewhere (Grandma?!) is looking out for me and telling me NOW is the time to push forward with my Nanny S-A illustrations! So, there may be a little less posting over the next few weeks but it'll all be worth it in the long run!!
Today's post is for my sister; I've printed this out and made a huuuuuuuge badge/card for her (I'll hopefully get a photo of her wearing it later!). I can't believe my little sis is 26!! Happy Birthday Boris!
Will post more stuffs as soon as I'm able to :-) xxxx
So I've done my best to be jolly this week and despite having a bit of a blip this morning (my sister broke her ankle 4 weeks ago, she was expecting to have her cast off today but has to keep it on for another 2 weeks and is taking it out on anyone in a 50 mile radius!) I must say I have managed to remain happy and positive! The power of the mind eh?!
Lots of bits to post today!
1. Today's new piccy (of course!)
Wowzers, it is really sunny outside but also incredibly foggy! I hope drivers are being extra vigilant today... Anyway, the weather in Berkshire isn't what I can't believe... It's my cousin Michael's THIRTEENTH BIRTHDAY on Friday! THIRTEEN?!! The time has gone by so very quickly but he's proving to be a well rounded, smart, kind and caring individual. I'm very proud indeed! Here is what I drew for him; he knows what his soppy cousin is like so hopefully I've gotten away with it being a little kiddy-fied still!:
